Tamatem Games has announced a collaboration with ZINC Jordan and Replit to host the “Prompt & Play Hackathon” from May 14 to May 16 at the King Hussein Business Park, providing developers with a platform to transform creative concepts into functional game prototypes while competing for a total prize pool of 3,000 JOD. Registration for the event remains open until May 11, inviting participants to engage in a multi-day experience focused on teamwork and rapid game development using modern AI tools.
The event kicks off with an “Introduction Session” on May 14 to outline judging criteria and rules, followed immediately by a “Vibe Coding” workshop led by Replit that teaches creators how to leverage AI for faster iteration and smarter prototyping. This technical foundation allows teams to spend the subsequent days focusing on high-level creativity rather than manual coding hurdles, ensuring that the final submissions are both playable and innovative within the short timeframe provided by the organizers.
Expert-led sessions on May 15 will cover “Monetization” and “UX/UI” strategies, equipping participants with the knowledge to integrate sustainable revenue models, such as in-app purchases and ads, while maintaining intuitive visual clarity for the end user. On the final day, a specialized workshop on presentation skills will prepare teams to pitch their projects to judges, highlighting the core value of their gameplay and the effectiveness of their AI integration before the winners are announced.
The “Prompt & Play Hackathon” requires teams to be present throughout the three-day duration and submit a playable demo alongside a comprehensive pitch deck to qualify for the top prizes of 1,500 JOD, 1,000 JOD, and 500 JOD, respectively. This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of regional leaders like Tamatem and ZINC to foster a robust ecosystem for game developers and tech enthusiasts in Jordan by providing mentorship and financial incentives for local talent.
